Social Worker – Maternity Leave Cover

East Grampians Health Service is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Social Worker to join our dedicated team and provide high-quality social work services to our community. This is a full-time maternity leave position, 38 hours per week, July 2025 to July 2026.

East Grampians Health Service aims to meet the needs of the community by offering a vast array of services based at the community health centre in Ararat. We also offer outreach services to Willaura, Lake Bolac and Elmhurst. Our services include dental, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, podiatry, speech pathology, dietetics, diabetes education and social work.  These services support other clinical areas including our acute and residential aged care patients. Our community health centre also hosts speciality clinics such as consulting suites for our visiting surgeons and maternal child and health.

About the Role

This role is part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, podiatrists, a health promotion officer, a speech pathologist, social workers, allied health assistants, and maternal child and health nurses, all co-located in the Community Health Centre. You will work with a diverse range of clients across community, paediatrics, acute, aged care, and palliative care settings.

Although an experienced social worker would be preferred, EGHS is also open to an applicant in their early career or a new graduate. If a new graduate is successful, they will be supported through a graduate program that includes professional development, external support, and clinical supervision to assist in their ongoing growth and success in the role.

About You

Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police,  Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check)
