Health Promotion

Our health promotion team aim to improve health and wellbeing by developing prevention strategies in collaboration with the community. We work to prevent health conditions before they occur by improving the environments in which we live, work, learn, and play.

Our key priorities are:

  1. Increasing healthy eating and oral health
  2. Increasing active living
  3. Reducing harm from tobacco and e-cigarettes

Who do we work with?

We partner with a range of organisations throughout the Ararat Rural City Council Local Government Area to deliver health programs and important health messages. The key to health promotion is community and collaboration, and our relationships with local groups and organisations are very important to us. We work with kindergartens, schools, workplaces, volunteer organisations, sporting clubs, and other community groups to improve population health.
