Program Structure
EGHS Graduate Nurse Program for Enrolled Nurses is offered at the completion of the Diploma of Nursing, that is held on-site at East Grampians Health Service.
The program includes:
Three clinical rotations over the year throughout 70 Lowe St, Willaura Healthcare and Garden View Court Hostel
Option to rotate two days per week in the In-Patient Unit (IPU – Acute Ward)
Potential option to rotate to Beaufort and Skipton Health Service
Two-day EGHS Orientation plus supernumerary days at the commencement of each rotation
Six study days throughout the year
Clinical support five days per week
Clinical Support
Clinical Support is provided by the Clinical Support Nurse/Educator and experienced preceptors in each clinical rotation. Clinical Support ensures that the graduate nurse develops their skills and knowledge in a safe and encouraging environment.
Clinical Rotations
To foster and develop the foundation skills of nursing, each graduate enrolled nurse will have four month rotations in sub-acute and aged care facilities:
70 Lowe Street — 45 bed aged care facility
Willaura Healthcare – 8 sub-acute beds, 2 nursing home beds, 10 aged care beds
Garden View Court Hostel – 24 bed aged care facility
Option to rotate two days per week in the In-Patient Unit (IPU – Acute Ward)
Potential option to rotate to Beaufort and Skipton Health Service
