We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care to join our Medical Imaging team in a full-time capacity as a Student/ Trainee Sonographer.

The Medical Imaging department is located at the main site in Ararat. It supports EGHS clinical services by offering services in Ultrasound, CT, General Radiology inclusive of dental imaging, Bone Density imaging and theatre imaging for both acute patients and the community. In practice, you will work in a team of both Radiographers and Sonographers whilst having support from our excellent administration staff.

About This Opportunity

This opportunity would be ideal for an applicant commencing their career in Sonography who is interested in joining a passionate workforce striving to continually improve our medical imaging services to meet the needs of our community.

  • The Medical Imaging team provides medical imaging services from Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm with a team of both clerical and clinical staff
  • This position is an opportunity for a beginning practitioner to join our Medical Imaging team as a Student/ Trainee Sonographer and be contracted for the duration required to undertake and complete undergraduate or postgraduate training in Sonography
  • The service uses Comrad and InteleViewer software
  • Be willing to operate ultrasound equipment in a safe manner and under direction perform accurate diagnostic examinations
  • Demonstrated commitment to holistic patient centred care

About You

  • You should be enrolled in or be prepared to enrol in an Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry accredited course in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent Previous ultrasound scanning experience
  • Initiative in workload management
  • Well-developed communication, both verbally and in writing and sound interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated interest in education and ability to maintain individual workload of studies whilst working in a full-time capacity

Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
