We are seeking to recruit a First Nation Liaison Lead to join the Development and Improvement Department. This position is part time, 16 hours per week.

About The Role
The First Nation Liaison Lead will support East Grampians Health Service to provide culturally safe health services to First Nation people. This position functions as an Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer (AHLO) through which advocacy and liaison for First Nation clients and their families navigating the health system is offered.
The position also assists with activities that align with the EGHS cultural safety plan and other initiatives. This could include coordinating significant cultural day celebrations, developing and delivering tailored education for staff, preparing reports on First Nation matters and supporting engagement and community consultation with relevant First Nation people and organisations.
About You
This is an identified position – you must identify as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent to apply.
This position is well suited to a person with strong communication skills who can actively engage with First Nation consumers, families, health service staff and external agencies.
Demonstrated sound organisational and administrative skills (including Microsoft Office programs), including the ability to prepare plans, submissions and reports, are required.
Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
