A new opportunity exists for an experienced Rural Generalist to be the Clinical Lead for new and developing Acute Medical Services (in-patient and UCC) department. This vacancy is for a part time position 16 hours per week (4 hour shifts, 4 days a week).

Job tasks and responsibilities
The Clinical Lead provides support, supervision (where needed) and mentors East Grampians Health Service medical staff and provides expert input into the clinical operations and governance to deliver exceptional evidence-based care. The role drives continuous improvement and regulatory compliance across EGHS.
As a member of the Medical Services team, the appointee will both oversee and contribute to the overall performance of the team consistent with EGHS values, visions and objectives.
The successful applicant will have experience of a range of tasks and responsibilities, including care of: acute medical and surgical patients;; residents in aged care facilities; and triage and management of presentations to the Urgent Care Centre.
Experience as a medical educator/ lecturer/mentor is preferred with extensive clinical experience in a Rural medical practice or health service essential. This position would ideally suit a practicing Rural Generalist GP.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will be highly motivated with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and able to be flexible in terms of time management and prioritisation of tasks. They will demonstrate a thorough understanding of and commitment to providing safe, effective, collaborative clinical care to the patients of EGHS, including in Residential Aged Care facilities and the Urgent Care Centre. They will be able to work with a range of stakeholders and other clinical providers.
Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
