The EGHS Perioperative Department offers a wide range of services to meet the needs of the local community and the surrounding region. Perioperative services include two operating theatres, a 6 bay day procedure unit, central sterile supply department, a 4 bay recovery room and a renal dialysis suite. We offer a range of surgical procedures performed by visiting surgeons. These include; general surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology, dental, ear nose and throat, caesarean section and certain emergency surgeries.

About The Role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in the Perioperative and Day Procedure Unit supports the Nurse Unit Manager by providing leadership in clinical oversight, staff coordination, and operational management. The role ensures safe staffing levels, high standards of patient care, and compliance with policies while fostering a respectful, dignified environment. Key responsibilities include workload delegation, mentoring and professional development of staff, implementing evidence-based practices, managing complaints, and contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives. The ANUM also assists with rostering, recruitment, financial performance, and undertakes patient admission and discharge processes to maintain excellence in care delivery.

About You

  • The successful applicant will have:
  • Current Registered Nurse AHPRA Registration
  • Post graduate perioperative qualifications
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Best Practice in Day Procedure Unit

Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
