At East Grampians Health Service our mission is to provide culturally respectful and holistic healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our region. We understand that health is not just about treating illness but also honouring connection to land, culture, community and spirit.
We are proud to have a dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lead based onsite. This vital role supports our commitment to culturally appropriate care by:
- Acting as a liaison between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, families and health professionals.
- Providing culturally informed guidance and advocacy.
- Assisting with navigation of health services and resources.
- Supporting health promotion and education tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Enhancing the cultural competence of our staff through training and support.
If you identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or are seeking culturally respectful healthcare, please feel free to connect with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lead during your visit. We are here to support you and your family’s health journey every step of the way.
