A successful Willaura Market was held on the Sunday 6th March with a bumper crowds again this year. Over 1500 people attended the Willaura market enjoying all the unique stalls, great variety of food stalls and impressive entertainment on the day.
Willaura market Coordinator Mrs Jane Millear said “crowds of people were entertained by the acrobatic performances of school circus act “bamboozle’; the circus was complemented by Stilt Walkers parading the grounds of the market. Jim the magician stunned people with his amazing magical acts and local musician Riley Mason sung great acoustic tunes during the course of the day”, she said
Jane said “another great market with a large attendance record which the Auxiliary were thrilled about. The weather was pleasant up until12.30pm, then the cloud cleared and shade wide highly sought after under trees and umbrellas”
The raffle prize winner were:
1st prize, for 3 nights accommodation at Halls Gap, donated by David Shalders and Lyn Webster, was won by Sean McDougall,
2nd prize, a Meat Package, donated by Greenvale Meats, won by Mary Stapleton,
3rd prize, Handbag donated by Marg Dodds, and Arbonne Cosmetics, donated by Ebony Kumnik, won by Duane Stapleton.
Jane extended her thanks to all the community volunteers and everyone who helped on the day and together made the Market a great event. Next year’s market will be on Sunday 5th March.
