Peter MacCallum chief guest at Improving Performance Workshop

Chief Executive of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Dale Fisher was guest presenter at the August Improving Performance Workshop at East Grampians Health Service.

The focus of the Improving Performance Workshops is to better equip EGHS Nurse Unit Managers and Departmental Managers on leading their teams to take the opportunities and better manager any challenging issues that occur.

Dale Fisher is Chief Executive of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer treatment, research and education and home to Australia’s largest cancer research program. She lead the relocation of Peter Mac’s East Melbourne site to its new home in Parkville in 2016, as part of the $1.1 billion VCCC Project.

Prior to joining Peter Mac, Ms Fisher was Chief Executive of The Royal Women’s Hospital for nine years. In recognition of her achievements in leadership and promoting excellence in women’s health to the Victorian community, Ms Fisher was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2011 as part of the centenary celebrations for International Women’s Day.

In October 2013, Ms Fisher’s many roles as a strategic and educational leader were again recognised when she was honoured as one of the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence.

Ms Fisher is a Board member of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre; the Committee for Melbourne and of the Centre for workplace Leadership Advisory Board; and is an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Executives.

She proved an engaging speaker and her session was widely enjoyed by all staff who attended.
