Murray to Moyne teams host market

The East Grampians Health Service Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay teams are kicking off their fundraising by hosting the December Ararat Trash and Treasure Market.

The ‘Cranks’ and ‘Defibrillators’ will be raising funds for new outdoor play equipment for the EGHS Ark Toy and Activity Library.

The Ark Toy and Activity Library has been operating at EGHS for more than 30 years, offering a borrowing service of toys, games and puzzles for children with special needs, and in recent years extending the service to people in aged care and mums’ and babies’ groups, particularly those from isolated areas of the region.

Next year the Toy Library will relocate to the EGHS Community Health Centre, which is undergoing extensive redevelopment.

The Cranks and Defibrillators have participated in the grueling 525 kilometre Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay, from Swan Hill to Port Fairy, for more than 20 years. In that time, they have raised thousands of dollars for vital medical equipment and other items for the health service.

This year the teams’ goal is to raise $15,000 for the Toy Library.

The Trash and Treasure Market will be held at Alexandra Hall on Sunday December 10 from 9am to 1pm. The Murray to Moyne teams will offer a barbecue and cake stall.

Head along and pick up some Christmas gifts and browse through the dozens of other stalls available on the day, including everything from craft, to books, to plants.
