The East Grampians Health Service Auxiliary raised more than $14,000 at a gala dinner at Grampians Park Station in November
Hosted by Tom and Cate Clark, owners of Grampians Park Station,
the stunning surrounds of the venue provided the perfect backdrop to the dinner, which attracted 100 people, enjoying a three-course meal, local wines music and auctions.
Guest speakers included Mr Clarke, who spoke about his military career in Britain and his move back to Moyston to take over the family property and EGHS chief executive Nick Bush, who highlighted upcoming developments at the health service.
Funds raised at the event went towards a specialised trolley for the perioperative unit dedicated to managing malignant hyperthermia, a reaction to commonly used anaesthetic drugs where the body produces too much heat.
This trolley will enable staff to improve their response time in the management of a malignant hyperthermia emergency.
Over many years, the Auxiliary has raised much needed funds for East Grampians Health Service, such as the recently funded three specialised high-arm chairs for the Patricia Hinchey Centre and patient scales for the EGHS Dialysis Unit.
“We are thrilled with the fundraising result at the Grampians Park Station Gala Dinner and would like to thank Tom and Cate for hosting us, as well as all who contributed to the success of the dinner, donors and sponsors of auction items,” EGHS Auxiliary president Shelley Green said.
“It was a wonderful night at a fantastic venue and it was great to see so many local people enjoying networking and catching up with old friends.”
