Day out at the Willaura Market

The Willaura Market is on this Sunday the 3rd of March in the grounds of Willaura Health Care, commencing at 10.00am

The Market has added more stalls and more entertainment and a selection of foods to choice from. This market can’t be missed, it’s a great day out, with scrumptious food, lively entertainment and great market stalls.

Mr Nick Bush, EGHS Chief Executive Officer said “This year is the ninth year of the market and will have a special performance by local band SOFT, with performers Ruth & Ziggy Strauga, both staff members of the Health Services will  be sure to keep the crowd entertained with their vast range of music.”

Danny Drake, EGHS Community Liaison Officer said “The Market has more than 30 stalls this year, with a wide range of goods for sale, including fudge, freshly made ice-cream, plants for the garden, clothing, fresh produce, art & craft, homemade candles, jewellery and entertainment for the children which will include music, jumping castle, circus acts.”

Mr Drake was delighted that candle maker Mr. Gerard Bunter, who moved to Willaura three years ago, giving up the cosmopolitan lifestyle as a designer in Melbourne.

Mr. Bunter said “I was looking for a lifestyle change and to get out of the hustle and bustle of a busy city life, and for some reason I was drawn to the small community of Willaura. I have a real passion for candle making, the candles I make are 100% soy and  I have over 25 different fragrances to choice from, such as sweet pea & vanilla, frangipane, cedar forest, lemon & ginger just to name a few. These soy candles make great gifts for friends and loved ones.”

Mr. Bunter said “I just love the Willaura Market, I attend lots of markets around the region, but the Willaura market is my favorite”

An art exhibition by the Kelly Gang will also be a draw card and a raffle for two night’s accommodation at the prestigious Pinnacle Lodge in Halls Gap.

The Market runs from 10.00am on Sunday and concludes at 2pm and all are welcome to attend.
