Community kindness and generosity appreciated

‘The kindness of strangers’. These words are often used loosely, but in these times of the COVID-19 pandemic, they are never truer.

Many individuals, organisations and businesses have reached out to show their appreciation to staff at East Grampians Health Service over the past few weeks and their generosity has been overwhelming.

From bunches of flowers left by a mystery donor at the front door of the hospital for staff, to Cocka Doodle Country Candles dropping off a box of lovely candles to be distributed to staff, the kindness of our community has been so appreciated by staff.

Chalambar Golf Club donated a number of hampers of Easter Eggs to be distributed to staff at Easter and the Willaura Bakery donated hot cross buns to Willaura Healthcare for the staff and residents to enjoy.

The staff at Ararat McDonalds are also providing staff with coffees on the weekends.

Through a contact with a staff member, Erebus Medical generously provided face screens, an intubator box and ear savers. Erebus Motorsport has joined the global fight against COVID-19 by using the resources of its Supercars team workshop to develop and produce lifesaving medical supplies.

They were delivered in just a couple of days of the request going out!

We are lucky to live in such a wonderful and generous community.
