Blue Ribbon – Ararat donates to EGHS

The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation Ararat Branch has presented a cheque for $30,000 to the Perioperative Unit at East Grampians Health Service.

This is the second donation of $30,000 by the Ararat Branch towards the $150,000 project in the Perioperative Unit which is named in honour of former Victoria Police recruit, Jason Bond, from Ararat who was four weeks into his police training when he died from injuries he received in a motor car collision in 2011.

The project will involve the redesign and refurbishment of the Theatre Recovery and Day Procedure areas to improve patient service and staff workflow increasing the number of day stay patients treated.

Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation – Ararat Branch President Mr Terry Weeks said that “these funds will honor the memory of Jason Bond through the naming of the Jason Bond Perioperative Unit at East Grampians Health Service and supports the commitment that the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and Ararat Branch has made to the local health service for many years.”

East Grampians Health Service Chief Executive Nick Bush said “I would like to thank and acknowledge the support from the local Ararat Branch members for their continued efforts to support our health service. This recent donation will help provide an improved functioning Perioperative Unit, which in turn will help improve services for patients.

The Perioperative service is very important to the community and the health service. The dedicated and enthusiastic efforts of a small number of people have achieved outstanding results. We are most fortunate to have the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation ongoing support”, he said.
