Over the past 12 months the Willaura Healthcare Auxiliary has purchased numerous items of equipment and contributed $20,000 towards the redevelopment of Parkland House Hostel.
At the recent annual meeting, Judy Paterson, Jan Laidlaw and Mandy Heard were returned to their respective roles of president, secretary and treasurer.
President Judy Paterson said it had been a busy year, catering for a number of sales, conducting the annual Willaura Healthcare Outdoor Market and concluding with catering for the hugely successful Faulty Towers event.
This year the market raised more than $7000 for Willaura Healthcare.
“All Auxiliary members were busy for the whole weekend, setting up, manning stalls then packing up at the conclusion,” Mrs Paterson said.
“We are fortunate to have many regular community helpers, plus EGHS board members and other EGHS auxiliary members to man the gate and help on our stall.”
Mrs Paterson said with the funds raised over the last 12 months the Auxiliary had purchased for Parkland House, two garden carts, large print calendars for each room and kitchen items, while also providing funds to cover the cost of the visit of a mini circus and mobile zoo and $1000 towards a trip to Geelong for residents.
The Auxiliary has also contributed $20,000 towards new furniture and furnishings in the new living space at Parkland House.
“It has been another satisfactory year for us and we look forward to contributing again to Willaura Healthcare in the coming year,” Mrs Paterson said.
