East Grampians health Service has awarded the 2017 Angela Laidlaw Clinical Scholarship to Kirby Connarty.
Ms Connarty will undertake a Bachelor of Nursing.
The Angela Laidlaw Clinical Scholarship is donated annually by the Laidlaw family in memory of Angela, whose love and commitment to the health service inspired her family to commemorate her in this way.
The scholarship creates opportunities for staff working in clinical areas of the health service to be supported in recognition for effort and where they are prepared to demonstrate commitment to study in addition to the usual requirements of their role.
Geoff Laidlaw presented Ms Connarty with the scholarship.
“The Laidlaw family is pleased to partner with East Grampians Health Service to honour the memory of Angie,” he said.
Ms Connarty thanked EGHS for the scholarship.
“I would like to thank East Grampians Health Service for the opportunity to receive the scholarship and for the support the hospital provides nurses to upskill,” she said.
“I am very thankful and honoured to receive it.”
