EGHS is seeking a suitably skilled applicant for a dual qualified Registered Nurse/Midwife to join our team.


About Us

East Grampians Health Service is based in Ararat and Willaura (Regional Victoria) and takes its name from the magnificent mountain range that provides a backdrop to both townships.  We are committed to providing quality care and services that meet the needs of the community, whilst continuously striving for improvement and aiming to lead the way in provision of health related services:

Inpatient Unit:  29-bed inpatient unit offering a wide range of clinical services located at the main Ararat campus. The inpatient unit accommodates medical, surgical, paediatric, perioperative, midwifery and palliative care patients.

Urgent Care Centre: 24-hour urgent care centre which is supported by our local GP clinic.

Other acute services: on-site pathology laboratory as well as our Medical Imaging Department which offers an extensive range of radiology services. 

What We Offer

About The Role

  • Provide quality care to obstetric patients during all stages of their pregnancy.
  • Provide support and assistance to new mothers, including breastfeeding advice and assistance with general parent-craft.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice.
  • Provide physical, emotional and environmental assistance for patients in addition to supporting them through counselling and education
  • Plan, deliver, evaluate and review nursing care in partnership with the patient / resident, their family, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Prioritise workload based on needs, acuity and optimal time for intervention and provide leadership and coordination of work for less experienced staff.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to students and less experienced staff in their ability to provide safe and effective care

About You

  • Must hold dual certificate in nursing & midwifery
  • Current and up to date midwifery skills and knowledge
  • Evidence of training in FSEP, PROMPT, PPH and Neo-Resus
  • Ability to contribute and practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
