Apprentice Carpenter – Support Services


East Grampians Health Service is seeking applicants for an Apprentice Carpenter to join our maintenance team working across our Ararat and Willaura campuses.

This is a 4 year apprenticeship, full time position.

These include kitchen and food services, cleaning, supply, building and environmental maintenance. Additionally, EGHS operates and maintains its own café (Café Pyrenees) available to all staff, patients, visitors and the wider community. Each of these program areas are vital to ensuring the safe, efficient and welcoming environment of EGHS.

About The Role

  • Working at EGHS full time, this apprenticeship requires candidates to work and study in the workplace to develop highly sought after skills required to be a Carpenter.
  • This qualification will provide the successful applicant with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively perform the entry level roles and responsibilities of a Carpenter.
  • You will be trained under the supervision of our Maintenance Coordinator in varied aspects of building and maintenance including opportunities to be involved in on site capital development projects.

About You

  • Reliable, enthusiastic and interested in the building trade.
  • Demonstrate commitment up to 4 years, attendance at trade school and weekly work schedule of 40 hours per week.

Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
