$7.97 million upgrade for EGHS Urgent Care Centre

The East Grampians Health Service Urgent Care Centre will receive a $7.97 million upgrade.
The health service’s successful application for Regional Health Infrastructure Fund funding was announced on Friday by Member for Ripon Martha Haylett.
The funding is guaranteed and has been allocated within the State Budget, and is not dependent on an election outcome.
EGHS has completed a detailed design for the redevelopment of the Urgent Care Centre.
The redevelopment will address critical service pressures by providing additional treatment spaces to handle increasing demand and ensure safe patient flows.
The plan also creates dedicated areas for paediatric and custodial patients.
Redevelopment of the UCC will support the delivery of safe, modern and sustainable care for the community.
EGHS Chief Executive Nick Bush said the health service was thrilled with the announcement.
“We really appreciate it and it is really special to know that it is not contingent on the result of an election, it is in the state budget and it will happen,” Mr Bush said.
“Our urgent care staff do a great job in a building that was built 20 years ago, but things have changed and each and every day they do a great job in working in that environment, so to see it redeveloped will be great.”
