Premier and Health Minister tour construction works

Premier Daniel Andrews and Minister for Health Jill Hennessy toured construction works at East Grampians Health Service on March 2.

The tour included works being carried out the Healthy@Home building and the Community Health Centre, with the State Government contributing $4.12 million towards the project.

The project will bring a range of vital health and community services together under the one roof, ensuring patients can access the treatment and services they need, closer to home.

The Community Health Centre project includes new consulting rooms, rooms for Ararat Rural City’s Maternal and Child Health services, more community meeting rooms and a bigger Ark Toy and Activity Library.

An expanded waiting area, a new reception and new front entry is also planned.

“We promised to build a world-class Community Health Centre for Ararat and we’re getting it done. This will mean better, faster care all under the one roof,’’ Mr Andrews said.

Mr Andrews and Ms Hennessy were shown the plans for the redevelopment by EGHS Board vice president, Nancy Panter and CEO Nick Bush.

“This one-stop-shop for community health services is great news for local families and our hard working health professionals,” Ms Hennessy said.
