Clinical Support Midwife – Midwifery


We are currently looking for a qualified Midwife for the role of Clinical Support Midwife. This is a part time position, 16 hours per week.

East Grampians Health Service has a 29-bed inpatient unit offering a wide range of clinical services located at the main Ararat campus. The inpatient unit accommodates medical, surgical, paediatric, perioperative, midwifery and palliative care patients. Developing health service partnerships, EGHS aims to service the health care needs of patients within the community as well as neighbouring towns. EGHS offers a 24-hour urgent care centre which is supported by our local GP clinic. Other acute services provided include an on-site pathology laboratory and medical imaging services.

About The Role

A Clinical Support Midwife is responsible for providing direct clinical support and supervision to, and for mentoring student, graduate, newly appointed or less experienced Employees to develop high quality clinical care skills in Midwifery.

About You

  • Current registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  •  3-5 year post graduate clinical nursing experience relevant to midwifery
  • Formal post graduate midwifery qualification, clinical midwife specialist or working towards
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical education, mentoring and preceptorship
  • Strong clinical skills across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
  • Ability to develop and deliver structured education sessions

Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
