Training begins for the Murray to Moyne Bike Ride

Training has started for this year’s Murray to Moyne Bike Ride as a major fundraiser for East Grampians Health Service. The two teams entered into this year’s ride are the “Cranks & Defibrillators”, the riders from both teams will cover a distance of over 525kms in two days from the Murray River at Swan Hill to the Moyne River at Port Fairy.

East Grampians Health Service, Community Liaison Officer Mr. Danny Drake said “We have a keen group of riders for this year’s event and they have been training hard over recent weeks. It is a great effort by community members and staff of the Health Service to give up their time to fundraise and train. This year both teams are helping to raise money for an UltraSound Machine for Theatre which will assist patients with the administration of pain relief whilst in surgery”

This year’s riders are Wayne Klauss (Captain of the CRANKS) and his team members Craig Newson, Amy Leeke, Laura White, Linda Fry, Lisa Haddow, Catriona Byrne and Gary Brumby. The Defibrillators are Alan Young (Captain); Jason Shipcott, Geoff Hateley, Nikki Pitman, Michael Kelly and Charlie Reid Both teams will be supported by Graham Bull, Les Ralph, Rob Keith, Gary Hall and Danny Drake.
