The Chief Radiographer is responsible for the day to day management of the Medical Imaging Department, as well as ultrasound, CT and X-ray examinations.

The Medical Imaging Department offers multiple modalities which includes multi-slice CT offering lowest dose on the market currently, Ultrasound including 3D/4D obstetric, gynaecological, vascular, musculo-skeletal, interventional, breast and other small parts. The department also has OPG (panoramic dental) X-ray, plain computed radiography, a mobile unit for patients within the inpatient unit or urgent care centre who cannot come to the imaging department, and an image intensifier in theatre.

The Medical Imaging Department is a 24 hour 7 day a week service which is staffed during the hours between 8.30am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays, after hours, weekends and public holidays staffed on an on-call basis as per the discretion by the Medical Officer.

There is a Radiologist (doctor of radiology) who attends the department each week on a Wednesday to perform interventional radiology such as biopsies and injections.
